Japanese B Encephalitis

This disease is transmitted by mosquitoes (Culex Group) infected with Japanese encephalitis virus, which mainly come from rice fields. The normal incubation period is from 5 to 15 days and this illness cannot transmit from one person to other. There’s no specific treatment to this, only therapy. However, vaccination is now available in the UK.

 Symptoms of this illness includes: 

  • Headache
  • High fever
  • Neck stiffness
  • Stupor
  • Disorientation
  • Coma
  • Tremors
  • Occasional convulsions
  • Spastic paralysis
